Short-Term Disability

The Company paid Short-Term Disability benefit is a type of insurance that pays 60% of an employee’s wages for up to 12 weeks for an illness or injury that leaves an employee unable to work.  All illnesses are eligible, but only injuries that occurred outside of your place of employment are eligible for this benefit. Coverage starts on the 8th day (after 7 days of not being able to work).

You are eligible for Short-Term Disability on the first of the month after 60 days of employment. There are forms that you and your doctor must complete. Inquire to your local Human Resources personnel to obtain the proper forms.
