Q: What encouraged you to begin a career in the roofing industry?

A: I studied hospitality in school thinking that I would start my career in the space. However, after getting the opportunity to participate in multiple shadowing programs during my studies, I realized that it was probably not the best fit for me to work behind a desk for my entire life. I wanted to find a career that would allow me to get out in the field, and spend some time working with my head and my hands. Problem solving is something I enjoy, and safety allows me to do so daily.

Q: What is the best part about working in roofing safety?

A: I enjoy getting to know the guys on the roof. There are a lot of great people up here every day, and I truly enjoy getting to know them better and making sure they have a safe and healthy work environment. I also can’t say enough how nice it is to be on the roof and outside. Some people do their best work away from a desk.

Q: What do you like to do in your free time?

A: I like to play video games, spend time with my girlfriend, and am starting to work on learning some Spanish.

Q: What safety trainings have you done, and what are you excited to learn?

A: I have completed my OSHA 10, OSHA 30, and am going to complete my first aid training. I’m looking forward to sharing what I learn with the field.
